Two Seconds Too Late is the second book in Dani Pettrey’s Jeopardy Falls series, and it will have your heart racing to the very end. Dani always does a great job of seamlessly balancing sizzling romance, pulse-pounding adventure, and genuine faith, and this book is no different. I’m a big fan of fake dating and forced proximity, so I loved seeing those tropes in this book and watching Greyson and Riley navigating their real and growing feelings for each other. This book ends on a couple different cliffhangers, so I am super stoked for the next book to release!🩵

If you have a story in mind that you haven’t been able to find in a book, you should sit down and write it! When I started writing my first novel in 2022, I don’t think I ever thought that I’d actually finish it at over 100,000 words and now be seeking its publication, but that’s what I did. You may think you don’t have what it takes to be a writer, but you’ll never know unless you try.

Be bold. Be brave. And start writing that story that’s living in your heart. Whatever happens with it, you can trust that God will bless your obedience to His calling.📖

“In the beginning, God…” Genesis 1:1a, ESV🍃

These are the first four words of the Bible. And while these four words may not seem like much, they actually tell us something really important about our Creator.

In the beginning, there was God. He existed at the beginning of time. He existed before it. He is eternal, uncreated. He has existed for eternity past, and He will continue to exist forever into the future. He is a God who was not born, will not die, and is responsible for the creation of everything else that has come into existence. And while we must rely on Him for our life and breath, He relies on no one. He exists in and of Himself.

And this is something to be thankful for! We serve a self-existent, self-sufficient, eternal God who is sovereign over all. We can trust Him to always be in control and care for our needs from now into eternity.

I’ve been waiting for this book ever since I finished Rebekah Millet’s debut back in 2023, and I’m so glad that I finally got to read Kate’s story! Kate Landry Has a Plan is a sweet story that had me laughing out loud. I absolutely loved Micah (who doesn’t love a guy who loves books?) and his flirtiness toward Kate even made me blush. With the jazz music, Mardi Gras celebrations, and all the beignets, this story is steeped in New Orleans culture, so much so that I felt like I was actually in the city. And like the previous book, I appreciated how authentic and present the characters’ faith was throughout the story. I very much enjoyed this delightful second chance romance, and I look forward to seeing what Rebekah Millet writes next.💜

revision update✍🏼 If you’ve been following revision update✍🏼

If you’ve been following my writing posts or my monthly newsletter, you’ll know I’ve been revising my romantic suspense manuscript and cutting it down to a more reasonable word count. Guys, I am SO close to being done! I’ve already hit my word count goal for this revision (90-95,000 words), and I have less than 50 pages left to review. Lord willing, I’ll be done with this revision by the end of the week, and then I can really focus on querying agents again (plus, I can return to drafting book 2!).
