There once was a kid named John. John was a rule-breaker. He cheated on tests. He lied to his parents. He was mean to the kids he didn’t like. One day, as John was walking around the video game store, he saw a game that he’d been wanting to get for WEEKS, but he didn’t have enough money for it. So, he grabbed the game, looked around to see if anyone was watching, and ran out the door. But John was caught. His father was called to pick him up. John apologized to his father, not only for his theft but for his other sins as well, and his father forgave him without chastising or berating him. He paid for the stolen game and took John home. Instead of making John pay him back for the game, he let him keep the game for free. Then, he took John to Disney World for a week. While many would say this is poor discipline or bad parenting, others could call it grace.

Imagine you’re going to the grocery store to pick up a few things, but you didn’t write down what you need. We can love reading, hiking, baking, painting, playing an instrument, or doing some other fun hobby. We love sunrises and sunsets. We can love mountains or forests or beaches. We love laughing and having fun. We have a lot of loves, but these loves can change as we go through life. If you develop a dairy intolerance, you definitely won’t love cheese pizza as much! If you get attacked by a dog, it’s hard to love and trust other dogs. If a friend turns their back on you or a partner cheats on you, it’s hard to still show love to them.
But there is one love that never changes no matter the circumstance. It endures forever! This never-changing love is the love of our God.

Tonight’s sunset is glorious.” Or maybe you said, “Mmm… That hamburger smells glorious!” Or maybe you don’t remember the last time you’ve used the word. Glorious is not a super common word we use on a day to day basis, but when we do use it, we are usually declaring that something is beautiful, admirable, or amazing. When the word “glory” is used in the Bible, it can also refer to the honor, praise, and/or worship of someone.

The American Psychological Association reports that forty to fifty percent of married couples who live in the U.S. will divorce. They can even be unfaithful in their job or other activities. Humans are unfaithful. But Paul’s second letter to Timothy reminds us of an important and encouraging truth-
“If we are faithless, He remains faithful…” 1 Timothy 2:13a
